There are some journeys that leave a mark on your heart — and my recent cycling adventure through Southern Sicily on two wheels with a group of wonderful Finnish guests is one I’ll never forget.

We started in the artistic city of Caltagirone, known for its colorful ceramics and baroque architecture. From there, we made our way south, leaving the hills behind and heading towards the sea, where Sicily reveals some of its most breathtaking and less-traveled coastal beauty.
Along the route, we crossed the symbolic Isola delle Correnti, the southernmost tip of Italy, where two seas meet and the breeze carries stories from across the Mediterranean. We rode along scenic coastal roads, always accompanied by the deep blue of the sea and the warm southern sun.
One of the highlights was reaching Marzamemi, a charming fishing village full of character, with its pastel houses, boats bobbing gently in the harbor, and lively piazzas filled with the aroma of fresh seafood. We explored the Vendicari Nature Reserve, where nature and culture blend in a perfect harmony of wetlands, ancient ruins, and untouched beaches.
Finally, we arrived in the timeless city of Syracuse, full of Greek history, vibrant street life, and endless charm.
But what truly made this journey unforgettable were the people. The Finnish guests I had the pleasure of traveling with brought kindness, curiosity, and joy to every moment. We shared incredible meals, from rustic trattorias to elegant seaside dinners, tasting wines that told the story of the land. We laughed, explored, and connected with the soul of Sicily.
This trip was more than just a cycling itinerary — it was a shared experience of discovery, beauty, and human connection.
Whether you're dreaming of an active adventure or a slow travel escape, I’m here to help you live your own unforgettable Italian story.
